Monte Vista Christian School’s theatre arts department recently offered a show-stopping musical theatre camp for kids entering grades K-8. Students from Gilroy, Morgan Hill, Watsonville, and Santa Cruz participated in an action-packed, week-long theatre adventure! These young performers were introduced to the fundamentals of musical theatre, while making friendships and memories. The week culminated with an amazing production of the musical hit Frozen! This fanciful and heartwarming stage adaptation of the celebrated animated film delighted parents, grandparents, and friends. One MVC parent said, “It was absolutely amazing to see what these kids produced in a matter of 5 days! It was fabulous!” Students participating in this fun summer camp were able to get a taste of the performing arts opportunities that Monte Vista Christian School offers to its middle school and high school students. The middle school and high school drama and music program produces plays and musicals throughout the year, allowing students of all ages to work together toward the common goal of putting on an impressive theatre production. This performance took place in the beautiful new performing arts center, the Don Price Performing Arts Chapel. This building contains a 450-seat auditorium, large classrooms, and state-of-the-art lighting and sound systems.
