There is perhaps nothing more beautiful than to watch an inexperienced young student develop into a confident, capable, well-trained performer. At Monte Vista Christian School in Watsonville, California, teachers see this every day as they mentor and train performing arts students beginning in 6th grade. Students at this Bay Area middle school and high school have the opportunity to participate in middle school theatre, high school theatre, a wonderful drama program, and an award-winning music program. Due to Monte Vista Christian School’s extensive fleet of buses, students come from all over the Silicon Valley area, including Morgan Hill, Gilroy, San Jose, Santa Cruz, and Watsonville. The newly built Don Price Performing Arts Chapel is a wonderful testament to the priority role of the arts at Monte Vista Christian School. This 450-seat auditorium is now home to all the plays and musicals at MVC, and includes two large classrooms as well as practice rooms and state-of-the-art sound and lighting systems.
